Olympiaregion Seefeld: paradise for climbers
The Olympiaregion Seefeld and surroundings are very suitable for the real climbing enthusiasts. In the villages Scharnitz and Leutasch you will find various climbing possibilities, a true climbing paradise. Whether you are looking for an easy climbing route for the whole family or a professional sport climbing it is all possible. There is a wide range of possibilities for both beginners and fanatic climbers.
Chinese wall in Leutasch
The Chinese wall in Leutasch offers 176 routes in 11 different levels. Every climber will find the right route including the optimal conditions. "Puls 2000" in the highest difficulty level is the best-known route. The route requires strength and stamina, but once up, the effort is rewarded with a beautiful view.

New climbing area in Scharnitz
Since the summer of 2019 there is a new climbing area in Scharnitz. A total of 60 completely new routes have been set out in the Wetterstein limestone with good grip and moderate levels of difficulty (3 to 7 degrees). The routes are suitable for beginners as well as families. There is also a place where you can rest a while back with tables, benches and including a fountain for the necessary refreshment.
Family climbing area "Flämenwandl
The Flämenwandl climbing area is ideal for families and has no less than 20 different routes between 3 and 6b+ difficulty levels. The climbing routes are located directly on the Leutascher Ache. The nature around the routes and the benches make it ideal for a pleasant picnic with the family. There is also plenty of space for the children to play.
Climbing adventures in the Seefeld area
New panorama via ferrata Seefelder Spitze
From June 2021, the Olympiaregion Seefeld will have a new highlight. The via ferrata at the Seefelder Spitze lets you enjoy a unique view of the entire region, from the Zugspitze to the Karwendel mountains. The panorama via ferrata starts at an altitude of around 1,960 meters and ends at 2,220 meters. During the climb you will cover an altitude of 475 metres and the level of difficulty is mainly in the C category with some D sections.
The ascent of the new panorama via ferrata takes about 1.5 hours, not including the ascent and descent. For the advanced climbers, the climb from the valley station Rosshütte is recommended, of course it is also possible to take the elevator to the top.
